Downtown Glen Cove was busy Saturday, Sept. 19, as residents and visitors attended the city’s annual Street Fair, held in partnership with Nassau County Fairs.

The event featured activities along Glen Street and School Street, including pony rides and a petting zoo. Vendors sold food, treats and other goods, while The Jam Brothers, a Glen Cove band, performed live music. The Deep Roots Farmers Market at Village Square also was held during the event.

The street fair brought visitors to downtown businesses, restaurants and shops throughout the day.

“It was a beautiful day in Glen Cove, and there was such a wonderful energy downtown,” Mayor Pamela Panzenbeck said. “Seeing children riding the ponies, families enjoying the music, and so many people visiting our downtown and supporting our businesses is exactly what this event is all about.”

Panzenbeck thanked Nassau County Fairs, the Glen Cove Special Events Committee and its volunteers, the Department of Public Works, the Glen Cove Police Department, Glen Cove Auxiliary Police and Glen Cove EMS for their work during the event.

She also thanked Roni Jenkins, who volunteered to organize the street fair, and Susan Tripp in the mayor’s office for their assistance.
