A landscaper cutting down a tree at a Bellmore home was electrocuted on Thursday after a falling limb struck a power line, Nassau County police said.

Investigators said the man was taking down a tree at a residence on Tanwood Court about 5:30 p.m. when a limb fell and struck an electrical line, police said. The contact energized the tree, which came in contact with the landscaper.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Police have not released the victim’s name or age. Nor have they said what company he worked for.
