The Long Island Ducks are once again baseball champions after winning the 2026 Atlantic League Championship Series.

The Ducks completed the three-game sweep against the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs on Friday, Sept. 25, winning 7-2. The title marks Long Island’s fifth, tying the team with the York Revolution for the most among active franchises in league history. The Somerset Patriots have six championships, but last played in the Atlantic League in 2020.

“It doesn’t get any better than this,” Long Island Ducks Manager Lew Ford said about the championship.

The Ducks swept the Hagerstown Flying Boxcars in three games in the North Division Championship to earn their appearance in the championship series.

Long Island jumped ahead in all three games, taking a commanding lead and giving its pitching staff room for error en route to three straight victories.

Long Island took a 6-0 lead in Game 1 of the series and held on to win 6-4. The Ducks then took an 8-0 lead in Game 2 before winning 8-4. Long Island jumped ahead first in Game 3 in front of its home crowd.
