Bookmark Café at Southampton Library Extends Partnership for 3 More Years

Patrons of the Rogers Memorial Library in Southampton will be able to check out books, and grab some Hamptons coffee and cakes – for another three years at least.
We’re talking here about the Bookmark Café – a special eatery in a corner of the library that employs nine people with developmental disabilities.
The café, which first opened in August 2025, is the result of a partnership between the South Fork Bakery in Amagansett, which has a staff of 24 people with developmental disabilities, and the Rogers Memorial Library, which is an iconic building in the village’s downtown.
Earlier this fall, the library and the bakery agreed to extend their collaboration for another three years.
“We are thrilled to continue our partnership,” Liz Burns, the library’s director, recently told Dan’s Papers. “We think this is working very well for the library.”
One of the employees is Abbey Woods, 23, who is a digital designer, but on Sundays she can be found behind the counter at the Bookmark Café.
