Long Islanders are getting ready for an inspiring day filled with connection and discovery as the 17th Annual Over 50 Fair heads back to the Hilton Long Island/Huntington in Melville on Sunday, Sept. 27, from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tailored for Baby Boomers, seniors, and their loved ones, this highly anticipated event brings together over 80 diverse exhibitors and more than 20 engaging enriching classes.

Founded by East Hills local Barbara Kaplan, who also organizes the annual All Kids Fair each April, the event always lives up to its motto: “Overflowing with Opportunities for Age 50+.” Kaplan points out that this is anything but a “typical senior fair,” sharing, “Our guests always learn, interact, and discover new businesses and organizations that can benefit their lives.” Attendees can find local companies and non-profits highlighting everything from health, wellness, and travel to financial strategies, education, and even a special appearance by an expert Scrabble player.

This year’s fair is set to be particularly dynamic. Attendees can relax and socialize in the singles lounge, courtesy of MTN Matchmaking Inc. Music lovers will enjoy a live acoustic music showcase throughout the day, presented by The Booking Ace, featuring performances by newcomer Mor Koren Schwartz, with her powerful vocals and versatility across musical genres and four languages, and the return of the Gotcha Covered Duo, featuring David Lamm and Danielle Gatto, playing the best of soft and classic rock of the 60’s to 2000’s.

Samuel Kaplan, a top-50 rated NASPA Expert Player, will teach “Scrabble Strategies.” Even seasoned players will learn from this fabulous presentation. Samuel will be available at his booth to play Scrabble against any challengers.

Additional classes in the lineup include “Next Level in Health and Longevity” with Dr. Michael Posner of Huntington Chiropractic Wellness, “Finding your (Singing) Voice” with The Harbormen Chorus, and the return of the popular “How to Improve Your Dating, Love, and Sex Life After 50” with Maureen Tara Nelson of MTN Matchmaking Inc.

There will be several types of free consultations at the Over 50 Fair, including financial—with Omni Financial Research, legal—with Meltzer, Lippe, Goldstein & Breitstone LLP, and therapeutic—from True Mind Wellness. Ethical Healing Practices will be offering free energy healings.
